Women’s Health & Fertility Services

Pregnancy

When my oldest was 2 yo we started trying for #2. I breastfed my son for over two years and my body was depleted, when I had a miscarriage a few months into trying. The doctors at 1st Step Family Wellness were very comforting and began supporting my body with supplements and more regular adjustments to replenish my body and help us reach our goal of adding to our family.

After about a year of replenishing my body with nourishing clean foods, following instructions for rest and exercise, and regular supplementation, we were pregnant with baby #2. I am now 20 weeks pregnant and continue to support my body and baby with rest, a clean diet, bi-weekly chiropractic care and individualized prenatal supplementation. We are so grateful for Jeanne, Ryan and Jana’s patient, wise and holistic approach to fertility and supporting how God designed my body to grow a healthy baby. –Renee, 31 yo

The doctors use a combination of chiropractic, acupuncture, and nutrition to balance the nervous system and hormones of the body. There are a number of other issues women have that involve pain, digestive problems, and even emotional wellness. Women who see a chiropractor regularly often experience positive outcomes with the following:

  • Headaches/Migrains
  • Fertility
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Endometriosis
  • Menstrual cramps
  • Constipation/Digestive issues
  • Weight loss
  • Mobility
  • Depression
  • Chronic Pain

Fertility care services in St. Louis, and around the country, seem to be highly sought after healthcare services these days.

You don’t have to talk to too many people to find a couple struggling to conceive. Although as vast as an issue as infertility is in the U.S., there seems to be quite a few misnomers about the cause of their infertility; or worse, couples are left to believe there is some mystical unknown leaving them barren. While every woman’s individual circumstance may vary, there are a couple things that if properly addressed, will put you back into the conception game.

My guess is if you are a woman suffering with infertility you have probably searched high and low for information, and for every fertility care service near you; everything from conventional methods such as IVF (In Vitro Fertilization), to natural fertility routes such as fertility acupuncture services.

Let me  start by giving you some staggering statistics according to the CDC:

1-The number of women aged 15-44 that have an impaired ability to get pregnant and carry a baby to term, is 7.5 million women.

2- The number of married women aged 15-44 that are infertile (unable to get pregnant after at least 12 consecutive months of unprotected sex with husband) is 1.0 million.

3- The number of women aged 15-44 who have ever used infertility services is 6.9 million.

As you can see, you are not alone! This is quickly becoming a substantial problem in this country. So the first question that needs to be answered is why are fertility issues are becoming more prevalent now than ever before?

I believe the answer is twofold (at least what we see in the office): having a good, healthy period and proper digestion.

Most women who suffer from infertility have been on birth control since they started their first menstrual cycle. This means their body has never performed a normal period! The importance of a good period is the cornerstone of pregnancy.

Pregnancy is a complex combination of hormones, and a perfect environment for the child to live. This is where diet and good digestion come into play. The food you eat is what helps produce the environment for the child to live and thrive, along with your hormones. If you’re searching for natural fertility services in St. Louis, I have a few videos out that talk about the importance of diet and digestion (especially proteins and fats). The best way to improve your digestion and prepare the body for pregnancy is enzyme therapy.

We  have used this extensively with individuals that struggle to conceive and carry a child, with monumental success. So if you have tried hormone therapy, or any other therapies for that matter, with little or no success, I suggest you give this a look. You can check out our prenatal care page for more information. If you have any question or would like to schedule a consultation to see how my office can help you and your situation call (314) 805-7837.
